A German colleague who tried using his Dragon Speaks Freely to dictate a translation about the current USA government got this as a result:
When translating an interview regarding the new president's administration in Washington the software produced this is amusing result: "her bum Administration"
Either he is rolling his "o"s too much, or there is something the Dragon knows about the new US administration that we don't.
Speaking of which - only four months ago we celebrated Obama's "language policy" and heaved a big sigh that we will finally have an intelligent, multilingual president for that "superpower" in the West. What a disappointment then when at the news conference held by him in Strasbourg five days ago, Mr. President had the following to say:
"It was also interesting to see that political interaction in Europe is not that different from the United States Senate. There's a lot of -- I don't know what the term is in Austrian -- wheeling and dealing -- and, you know, people are pursuing their interests, and everybody has their own particular issues and their own particular politics."
In what??? Oh, God. What's Bushism in Obama's time? I can tell you: "her bum administration".
